(May 30, 2023) – Abernethy Laurels retirement community and EveryAge, its parent company, are hosting a blood drive on Thursday, June 8, from 12 noon till 4:30 pm. The drive will take place in Spirit Place auditorium at 102 Leonard Avenue, Newton, NC. All are welcome to donate.

All blood types are requested, and if you’re an O, B-, and A- donor, please consider making a Power Red donation to maximize your contribution. Red blood cells are the most commonly transfused blood component and are essential to patients in need.
Each donor will receive a complimentary health screening prior to collection and to ensure eligibility. Remember, certain medications like blood thinners can prevent you from donating. If you have questions prior to your appointment, please call 866.236.3276 for more details.
To minimize time at the collection center, donors can complete their pre-donation information and health history questionnaire the morning of their appointment. Simply use a smartphone or computer to visit www.redcrossblood.org/rapidpass.
As added incentive, donors who give in June can receive a $10 gift card by email to a merchant of their choice. In addition, donors will automatically be entered for a chance to win a backyard theater package, including a laser wireless projector and screen, projector tripod, smokeless firepit, Adirondack chair set with four chairs and two tables, and a movie night snack package.
